Several years ago, I ran into an advertisement for a KVAR powersaver product. The product claimed to save power (money) if connected to my electrical service in my home. I was curious and did a little research. So, I thought for the relatively little money it would cost, I would try it. I can’t claim that it saved me money right now but my power sure seems to be smoother (less power surges) than it’s been.
There seems to be a lot of controversy swirling around the above line of products as well as KVAR in general. So, what I hope to accomplish with this blog is three fold.
- The first is to explain KVAR and power saver products from a non technical perspective and how they can relate to your home energy consumption.
- Next, I will suggest products that can be used in your home that provide the benefits claimed above.
- We also will be discussing products that can provide energy savings as well as monitor your energy system in your home.
